Meet Tansy

Hello, thank you so much for finding me!

I’m Tansy, a qualified Swedish Massage Therapist, based in Cardiff.

My massage therapy journey feels both as though it came somewhat out of the blue and as though it was something that’s always been in my path… And now that I’ve completed my Level 3 qualification in Swedish Massage at Coleg Gwent, I really feel it’s a calling I’m drawn to on so many levels.

My mum was a Reiki master, psychic medium, and meditation facilitator, as well as a truly talented silversmith. Her nurturing energy has always been an endless source of inspiration to me. When she sadly passed away in 2023, I sort of inherited the massage couch she had used for reiki treatments.

Always an intuition-led person, I felt that it was right for me to make use of the couch as a way to honour my mum.

Combined with the desire to step away slightly from full-time desk work and the feeling that supporting others through hands-on, healing care was something I really needed to do, I booked myself onto an impromptu massage day course. I figured that, if it was something I felt connected to, I could go on to study further. If not, I’d see it as a nice day out!

Honestly, though, I was surprised at just how right it felt… The mindful movement and creating a safe space for another person’s relaxation were absolutely what I’d been seeking.

It turned out that a Level 3 Swedish massage course was starting at Coleg Gwent then next month. So I took the plunge and enrolled. I spent 9 months studying on a Tuesday evening alongside full time work as a copywriter, and haven’t looked back!
